ABOUT US
SPEKTRE Gallery located in Brooklyn, address 287 Third Avenue. From the outset, the Gallery are committed to showing the work of innovative artists.
Some of the artists who are in the Gallery program already attained international recognition. Matching the heroic output and ambition of these artists, in January 2009 Spektre Gallery expanded by completing a dramatic renovation of old store in Park Slop, Brooklyn.
Other prominent New York-based artists under Gallery representation Carole Robb, Antonia Papatzanaki, Sophia Petrides.
Many of the most significant international artists also will have show at the Gallery during the coming 2010.
By the 1990s, Coho had evolved into a lively commercial district no longer chiefly inhabited by, and nurturing to, artists. In May 1996 many Gallery’s moved to Chelsea Ninth Avenue and 18-28 Streets, long established crossroads of the art world.
The SPEKTRE Gallery will be one of the first Gallery’s that represent new and already established Artists in Park Slope Historic District, one of New York's largest landmarked neighborhoods.
The Gallery also will initiate the ongoing VIEW series of exhibitions, in which an invited curator is free to present the work of compelling young artists alongside contemporary masters.
The Gallery will in this manner function as a Kunsthalle or project space, stimulating observation and discourse. Through this program the Gallery will show and develope relationships with new artists. A number of these artists will proceed to mount solo shows at the Gallery.
